Apple's "thinnest iPhone" surprise

Apple is preparing to unveil its new iPhone series at its annual fall event on September 9. The most eye-catching model at the event is rumored to be the iPhone 17 Air, expected to be the company's thinnest phone to date.
According to leaked information, the iPhone 17 Air will be slightly smaller than the iPhone 16 Plus, but larger than the Pro models, with a 6.6-inch display. Its most important feature is its thinness.
WEIGHTS ONLY 145 GRAMSAccording to Bloomberg, the device will be 5.5mm thick, significantly thinner than the 8.25mm iPhone 16 Pro. It's also estimated to weigh just 145 grams.
It is stated that the side frames of the device will be thinner and minor changes may be made to the Dynamic Island design.
CAMERA AND PERFORMANCESome compromises may be made on the camera side to maintain the slimness. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 17 Air will only ship with a single rear camera. Meanwhile, the front camera is expected to increase to 24 megapixels across the entire iPhone 17 series.
On the performance front, the Air model is rumored to use the A19 or A19 Pro chip and come with 12GB of RAM. This will allow for more efficient AI features.
BATTERY AND SOFTWAREDespite its thinness, Apple is reportedly using new silicon-anode battery technology to ensure battery life remains consistent. This 2,800mAh battery, thanks to its high density, could provide 15-20% more performance. Furthermore, the Adaptive Power feature, coming with iOS 26, will extend battery life by adjusting energy consumption based on usage.
According to circulating information, the iPhone 17 Air will be available in black, blue-gray, light gold, and silver. Pricing is expected to be around $900. However, due to customs duties and Apple's general pricing policy, this figure could rise above $1,100.
Apple's new iPhone series will be unveiled on September 9. Pre-orders are expected to open on September 12, with the devices expected to be available to users a week later.
